The two decades of reform and open to the outside world have witnessed the rapid development of the national audio-visual industry. With audio-visual production, publication, duplication and release as the main body, the industry system has been dramatically improved and played a very important role in the culture industry. However, the industry lacks competitive advantages in terms of less program supply, low market share, and powerless influence. It never accords to the directors of many companies that it will be a good idea to share with others their program production, sales and marketing. In order to improve the links and cooperation between home and international audio-visual business, explore more chances for the industry, and help to develop the industry, the Ministry of Culture of People’s Republic of China and People’s Government of Guangdong Province have jointly organized the China Home Entertainment Fair (abbreviated as CHEF).
With the market as media, CHEF promotes the transaction of audio-visual products and copyright through the module of industrialization and internationalization. The international Exposition has displayed the latest achievements of products and publications, promoted the advanced technologies of production and publishing, and built up a broad platform for product exhibition, business and communication. Gradually, the exchange and cooperation in the national audio-visual industry with a sustainable development has been led to be more realistic.
Nowadays, the combination of culture, economy and polity has much greater effect on the comprehensive national strength. As the new form of metal wealth, culture industry has attracted more attention of the mass. To develop culture industry, we should make good use of the advantages of the wonderful national cultural resources and present the products with distinguishing Chinese characteristics and vital artistic life to the world. It is a good way to show the world the power and charm of Chinese culture. The successfully organized CHEF set up a bridge between China and the outside world for further culture exchange, which has a significant influence on the development of state’s culture industry.
With the results of the two Expos and the successful experience of cultural exhibitions both home and abroad, we will make every effort to hold every Expo successfully. Furthermore, we will do our best to create a large-scale place of transaction that has great influence and cohesion, a center for the business on intellectual property of cultural industry. CHEF plays a role as bridge among audio-visual companies and helps the companies achieve win-win cooperation.
