Notice for Overseas Participants of
2004 China International Exposition of Audio-Visual Industry

Dear Sir or Madam,

Authorized by the Ministry of Culture of P. R. China (hereinafter referred to as MC) and the Committee of 2004 China International Exposition of Audio-Visual Industry (hereinafter referred to as CIEAVI), China National Publications Import and Export (Group) Corporation entrusts her Guangzhou-based branch, CNPIECGB, to handle the affairs of overseas participants concerning exhibits, on-the-spot sale, customs clearance and so on. The details are as follows:

Ⅰ. Censorship

1. Products for Display
Products for display only, censorship will be undertaken in the exhibiting place on the afternoon of September 25th 2004, the day before the opening.

2.Products for On-the-spot Retail
Products for on-the-spot retail should be censored by the MC beforehand. Samples marked with “for censorship” should be sent to CNPIECGB by August 15th 2004. The following are required documents attached with the sample:
(1) Censorship Form
(2) Subtitles or dubbing in Chinese for video products. The audio products should have lyrics both in Chinese and original language
(3) Other documents required possibly

3. Products for Telecast
Products for telecast in the exhibiting place, e.g. MTV tapes, VCD, DVD, CD, should be censored in advance by the MC. Samples marked with “for censorship” should be sent to CNPIECGB before August 15th 2004.

Ⅱ. Products for Display

1. All kinds of media types, say, A/V cassette tapes, CD, VCD, DVD, EVD, SRCD, SACD etc, are acceptable for the Exposition. But the quantity of each type of products should be no more than three pieces/sets.
2. Contents involved should abide by relevant Chinese regulations and be in line with China’s situation.
3. Products for display, which should be returned to original countries afterwards, could not be used for sale or donation.

Ⅲ. Products for Retail

1. Overseas participants can retail authorized products in the exhibiting place. There should be no more than 100 categories of pop music exhibits, not exceed 50 for DVD programs. No quantity limit is set for other types of exhibits.
2. Contents involved should meet the censorship standard by the P.R.C..
3. Products sold are subject to tariff and value-added-tax levied by China Customs. Leftovers will be returned to original countries afterwards according to Customs regulations.
4. Overseas participants can open bills and sell at the booth. CNPIECGB is responsible for handling the payment at special counter.
5. Prices are decided by exhibitors on their own. CNPIECGB will deduct 15% of the income as service charges.
6. Labels of the MC and logos of CNPIECGB must be affixed to all products for on-the-spot retail.

Ⅳ. Transportation

1. Transportation Abroad
The Committee of 2004 CIEAVI chooses Beauty Yard Trading Co. Ltd.(hereinafter referred to as BYTC) located in Hong Kong to serve as the agent dealing with goods collection as well as transportation from Hong Kong to Guangzhou. The details of service charges are as follows:

From Hong Kong to Guangzhou
Minimum charge: HK$500 / 5 cartons
Charge for extra cartons: HK$80 per carton
Note:
1. Weight per carton should not exceed 25 kgs.
2. Charges mentioned above include storage, unloading, packing, document handling etc. exclusive of insurance.

Remarks:
Exhibits including catalogues carried by participants themselves will be subject to supervision of China Customs when they enter the mainland. If CNPIECGB is entrusted with the task of collecting the goods, charges caused will be paid by participants.

2. Domestic Transportation
CNPIECGB is responsible for providing domestic transportation services including trucking in Guangzhou, customs clearance and so on.

(1) Basic service charge: RMB600 per exhibitor, including customs clearance, goods preservation, unloading, document handling etc.
(2) Transportation from Guangzhou port to booth: RMB60 / carton, and weight per carton should not exceed 25 kgs.
(3) Transportation from booth to Hong Kong: RMB110 / carton

Ⅴ. Matters Concerned

1. Participants should send to CNPIECGB the list of all exhibits both for display and for on-the-spot retail by August 31st. For further information, please contact:

2. All exhibits should arrive at BYTC by September 13th. Should the arrival be late, extra 20% transportation charges would be added.

3. Exhibits for display and for on-the-spot retail should be packed and listed separately. Please mark on the products for promotion. Apart from packing list, invoices should be provided for exhibits for on-the-spot retail.

4. Charges of transportation abroad should be paid by BYTC before goods are departed from Hong Kong. Domestic service charges should be paid CNPIECGB before goods are departed from Guangzhou. The following are the bank information:

5. Settlement of exhibits for on-the-spot retail
When goods arrive in Guangzhou, 30% of the total value should be pre-paid as a refundable deposit on tariff. BYTC is responsible for deposit collection and refund. Concerning on-the-spot-retail exhibits revenue during the Exposition, CNPIECGB will settle with all participants after tariff, value-added-tax and service charges are deducted.

6. A task force working for overseas participants of 2004 CIEAVI has been established by CNPIECGB.
